To Swiss business and economic statistics professionals, researchers, and students,

The Fifth International Conference on Establishment Surveys (ICES-V) is the first in the series of ICES conferences to be held in Europe. Under the heading "Methods and Practices for Statistics on Businesses, Farms, and Institutions", it highlights new, improved and upcoming business, economic and related survey methodologies and technologies using census data, administrative data, and sample survey data. It is held at CICG in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 20-23, 2016 (www.ices-v.ch<http://www.ices-v.ch>).

This past days the official period for submitting contributed papers abstracts has closed. About 200 abstracts have been received, which gives reasons to expect a scientifically rich conference.

However, among these received abstracts, the host country Switzerland has contributed with only 8 (less than some other countries). We are aware that there is strong business statistics (applied and research) in Switzerland. Therefore, in pursuing more papers from Switzerland for the conference, we are able to hold contributed abstracts submission open until October 12th (inclusive). Details for submitting an abstract are outlined at:
http://www.portal-stat.admin.ch/ices5/contributed-papers-and-posters/.

The call for contributed papers and posters is available here:
http://www.portal-stat.admin.ch/ices5/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/ICES-V-Call-for-Topic-Contributed-Sessions-Contributed-Papers-and-Posters.pdf

We believe that it is mutually beneficial to showcase Swiss achievements in business statistics methodology and practice in the situation when it is the host country.
