Brute force method: if you wish to compute derivatives, you can declare your log-likelihood as an R function and use the grad function (found in the numDeriv package) to evaluate that at convergence.

Subject: [R-sig-ME] Extract/Calculate score vector from "mer" objects

Dear All,

I'm interested in calculating the score vector (first order derivative of the log-likelihood) evaluated at the final parameter values (i.e., at convergence), for a mixed effects logistic regression model, returned by glmer(). Has anybody ever done something like this?

Thanks in advance for any hints.

Best,
Dimitris
