[R-SIG-Mac] R-alpha on SL system

Roger,

from your logs you are still using the wrong compilers (missing -arch  
flags) and not following the instructions (you're building in the  
sources as far as I can tell). Please make sure you're setting FC and  
F77 correctly including the -arch flag and don't build in the sources.  
If in doubt, please send us the exact configure line you're using.  
(And make sure you remove everything in the build directory before re- 
trying).
