R-alpha: stat.auckland.ac.nz

The R anon-ftp site at stat.auckland.ac.nz is currently out of action.
We are in the throws of upgrading from a tired old SparcServer 10 to a
new Sun Enterprise Server.  Normality should be restored within the
next couple of days.

The good news is that we can configure and compile R in rather less
than a minute.  This should help the development process.
