R-alpha: R-beta: RPM package for R

Before we get to may versions floating about ... 

I had intended that these "a1", "a2" ... releases be hacker releases
which will be followed by a R-0.50.stable release when the (worst)
problems are sorted out.  Thats why I announced to "r-devel" rather
than "r-announce".

(Note this is information rather than any kind of policy statement,
you are of course free to do whatever you like with R)
