Well; it has never occured for me, using
"Windows Terminal Server", several flavors of Xp;
currently using "Windows Terminal Server 2003",
I do check and I don't have a problem:
I get the usual file-choose / directory-choose popup menu and
then can successfully choose the desired one.

I don't think that the above is problematic,
nor that it is related to the problems that the Windows Vista
and it seems *some* Xp users see.

    RMH> The help for use-dialog-box (emacs 21.3.50.1) says it applies to

and where it does not apply, it cannot harm. Setting it to nil
is not incorrect in any case.

    RMH> The help for y-or-n-p sends me to
    RMH> last-nonmenu-event which gives the potential for more elaborate control.

    RMH> I don't know how to repair this problem.

nor do I.

I plan to release  5.3.11  inspite of this problem;
as it seems nobody can easily fix it.
