Statistical Analysts or Senior Statistical Analysts
The Division of Quantitative Sciences at the University of Texas M. D.
Anderson Cancer Center is seeking highly motivated statistical analysts
with expertise in biostatistics and bioinformatics. The successful
candidate will join a team of biostatisticians and bioinformaticians
working on a wide variety of collaborative projects in cancer research.
The positions will have a primary focus in bioinformatics.
Minimum Requirements:
· MS or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, computing or
related fields.
· A minimum of 1 year analytical experience with high throughput data
(genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, etc.).
· Excellent communication skills.
· Working knowledge of Windows and/or UNIX operating systems.
· Proficiency in S-Plus/R, SAS, C, Perl or similar packages are
essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
· In addition to the major in one of the above fields a minor in
another field or work experience or training in biomedical/basic
sciences research.
· 2+ year experience with high throughput data analysis using
R/Biconductor packages.
· Experience with writing statistical considerations for grants.
Salary is competitive and is commensurate with experience.
