Bioconductors--
In case you missed it, R announced a delay in its release schedule:
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-announce/2016/000599.html
Their full (updated) release schedule is at
http://developer.r-project.org/
Accordingly, Bioconductor has updated its release schedule:
https://bioconductor.org/developers/release-schedule/
In addition to delaying Bioconductor's release to May 4, we've also moved out several important deadlines to give you, package developers, more time:
- Deadline for packages to pass build and check without error (which had already passed in the old release schedule) has been extended to April 15.
- Deadline for packages to pass build and check without warnings has been extended to April 22.
- The deadline for new packages (which have already been submitted and are being reviewed) to be added to the Bioconductor release roster has been extended to April 20.
- The deadline for submitting new packages to Bioconductor has passed and will NOT be extended. Any packages submitted now will be considered for the 3.4 release, sometime this Fall.
The reason for the delay in R's release schedule is the new Windows toolchain and the need to make sure all packages install, build, and check against this toolchain (as has been discussed on bioc-devel recently). If your package is affected by the new toolchain, please work on it and get it building as soon as possible. Any questions can be directed to this list (bioc-devel).
Thanks,
Dan
