Hummm... I just check again the search feature on the Wiki. It takes me
less than 2 sec to get the whole result (but the page is constructed
pieces by pieces, and the firsts links appear almost immediatelly). This
is slower than Google, but still fine to me. Of course, this is an
access from my Intranet, thus testing the Wiki engine mainly, not the
Internet traffic.
Could you give me a little bit more info (trace route to the Wiki server
from your computer, how long does it take to display a Wiki page, to
display the search result, etc...).
I introduced a project to my University to buy and install a faster
server and to put it as close as possible to the backbone. I received a
positive answer, unofficially, but you know... administration always
take longer!
So, all these informations about how fast (or how slow) the R Wiki is,
are important at this stage. Does anyone else experience unbearable
slowlyness?
Best,
