[R-sig-ME] mcmcsamp and random effect covariance

Hi,
While I know that for the general distribution of lme4 mcmcsamp can't be
used to estimate CI's for the covariance parameter, I was wondering whether
that has been updated in the current lme4a or other development versions.
This isn't suggested by a search of listserv messages but I thought I'd ask
anyway. I recognize that there are some problems with mcmcsamp() [e.g.
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-sig-mixed-models/2009q4/003120.html ] but
it might be useful nonetheless.

Thanks,
Ned
