[R-SIG-Mac] CRAN and packages problems

The SSL certificate check for stat.ethz.ch fails. Given that it is actually valid (see below), the problem is on your end. Possible causes are

a) intermittent issue - try again or try another mirror

b) too old macOS with expired root certificates - see https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-sig-mac/2021-November/014228.html

c) bad proxy - remove the proxy or contact the proxy administrator

d) someone is messing with your network - worry
