Sorry, I first sent this to
r-sig-mac-bounces at r-project.org
by mistake. Apologies for any spam-like effect.

Hi, the newest precompiled binary for Mac that I have been able to find on a CRAN mirror is 3.4.0. This wouldn’t be much of a concern; I don’t mind waiting. Except that:
(running in R 3.4.0)
require(sp)
Loading required package: sp
Warning message:
package 'sp' was built under R version 3.4.1
So, what are the prospects for a 3.4.1 binary on CRAN? Or am I somehow doing something wrong? I’ve hit “Refresh” many times in my browser. Or am I just being impatient? (only about a week since R 3.4.1 was released)
The sp package was a binary install:
install.packages('sp')
Installing package into '/Users/macqueen1/Library/R/3.4/library'
(as 'lib' is unspecified)
--- Please select a CRAN mirror for use in this session ---
trying URL 'https://cran.cnr.berkeley.edu/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/3.4/sp_1.2-5.tgz'
Content type 'application/x-gzip' length 1545668 bytes (1.5 MB)
==================================================
downloaded 1.5 MB
The downloaded binary packages are in
/var/folders/ts/p_9qz7b54kb5sy2sfs7vtdwh001k0_/T//RtmpXfXSP3/downloaded_packages
Thanks
-Don
