[R-SIG-Mac] Changing focus triggers errors and sometimes abort

Hi

MacOS 10.12.1 and still 10.12.2, Macbook 12”, R 3.3.2, XQuartz installed (2.7.11)

I am routinely getting the following two errors in the console while using the R editor and changing focus to a finder or safari window and back.  It is often associated with opening a script via File -> Open.

This seems to have been reported as part of the '[R-SIG-Mac] CONFIRMED - R.app crashes at startup on MacOS Sierra” thread, but here are the errors specifically noting deprecated functions and other issues.  Sometimes, just the errors are reported.  Sometime they come with the 4 choices associated with aborting…. it does not appear to me to be related to having XQuartz open or not.

These are not happening with RStudio, so I am guessing something is going on with Sierra the built in R editor?
