[R-SIG-Mac] WebDav connection?

Hello: 
My work offers server space that we access via a Webdav connection.  I'm able to mount the volume in the finder from home, but I'm having trouble reading a data set into R.  I've tried playing with getURL using the userpwd option and creating a standard http:// url connection, but none of this works.  Has anyone ever used R to access data sets via a Webdav connection?
