Hi,
I have the exact same problem here.
I looked around and it seems that "rggobi" is a required dependency. I tried
to install it different ways but it always fails:
* installing *source* package ‘rggobi’ ...
checking for pkg-
config... no
checking for GGOBI... configure: error: The pkg-config script could not be found or is too old. Make sure
it
is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full
path to pkg-config.
Alternatively, you may
set the environment variables GGOBI_CFLAGS
and GGOBI_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man
page for more details.
To get pkg-config, see <http://pkg-config.freedesktop.org/>.See `config.log' for more details.
ERROR: configuration
failed for package ‘rggobi’
* removing ‘/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.11/Resources/library/rggobi’
Les
packages téléchargés sont dans
‘/private/var/folders/m3/m3AtKey5G98OKxQeAccax++++TI/-Tmp-
/RtmpnNSqSu/downloaded_packages’
That's where I am...so far
Regards,
Morgan

Simon, Morgan,
I have the latest version of Rattle,
2.5.30, correctly installed, I
think, and running on R version 2.11.0 Patched (2010-05-01 r51879)
under OS X
10.5.8. I have the same problem as you, Morgan, i.e., the
Gtk warning "Unable to find default local directory
monitor type".
Here is a run that provokes the message:

The rattle() function seems to start X11. This takes some time. When
the X11 console finally appears,
ensure that Data is the active tab
and Source is set to Spreadsheet. Click the Filename button. On my
installation that is sufficient to cause the warning. Is that your
experience, Morgan? It might be necessary to
begin browsing in the
Select A File dialog. In that case, select All Files in the file type
dropdown, navigate to,
say, a tab-separated file, and click Open. I
enclose such a file for your convenience.

Richard
