[R-SIG-Mac] Install issues and R CMD INSTALL error

More information....

I found where the R.app installer put the rgdal and spgrass6 files,  
and they are not in the system level frameworks as requested, but  
rather in

  /Users/knussear/Library/R/2.6/library

I copied the files from there to

/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.6/Resources/library

and things seem to load properly....

Still in the air - why did the R installer put them in this directory  
despite my request for the system level frameworks, and why doesn't R  
CMD INSTALL work?
