[R-SIG-Mac] Package load problems Mac

Good day

I seem to be having the same problem as others regarding the package
load problem on Mac. I tried the quick fix of installing the gcc4.0.3
but that didn't work.

I tried to connect to the R.research.att.com site using the package
installer in the gui but I get an error

Warning: unable to access index for repository
http://R.research.att.com/bin/macosx/universal/contrib/2.4

I have been unable to load the quadprog package, and can't get hold of
a newer version. Are there any suggestions?
