My apologies. I hadn't had enough coffee yet and I encountered this page:
http://wiki.urbanek.info/index.cgi?TigerGCC via google and I
interpreted the gcc4 howto as a recommendation.
Once I (had some coffee and) clicked on the little house icon to get
to the main R+Tiger page (http://wiki.urbanek.info/index.cgi?TigeR)
things are much more clear.
I will stick with gcc3 + g77 for now.
Thanks,
