I wonder whether someone could show how to set proxy for the R package 
in osx (10.3.9)?
It is not picking up the system preference proxy setting. Is there a 
text file where this could be set?
Similarly in windows the r consol command > C:\Program 
Files\R\rw2011\bin http_proxy=http//proxyserver.xx.xx/ 
http_proxy_user=ask() OR "C:\Program Files\R\rw2011\bin" 
http_proxy=http//proxyserver.xx.xx/ http_proxy_user=ask()or gives 
syntax error!
All help appreciated.
