[R-SIG-Mac] mouse movement needed to trigger command - a bug?

I realized that I sometimes have to move the mouse after choosing a 
menu item to make the command appear and execute in the R-GUI. For 
example, if I choose "Safe Default Workspace" nothing happens, but 
when I move the mouse, the "save.image()" command appears in the 
R-GUI. Is this a bug?
