*** R-2.0.0 for Mac OS X released on Oct-15-2004 ***

The last binary build of R for Mac OS X have just been released on CRAN.

Apart from specific innovations in R itself (see the official R-2.0.0
announcement) this new build provides a brand new Cocoa GUI designed
and implemented from scratch with many new features. Among these:
internal editor with syntax highlighting, code and file completion,
enhanced AppleScript support, new packages installer and manager, new
data editor and browser, internal html help system, clickable history
panel. This version of the GUI requires Mac OS X 10.3+. Mac OS X 10.2+
users can still use R-2.0.0 via the old carbon GUI (the new build
contains installers for both Mac OS X 10.2+ and 10.3+).
The new Cocoa GUI has been designed jointly by Stefano M. Iacus and
Simon Urbanek.

R for Mac OS X can be found at: http://cran.R-project.org/bin/macosx
and will be propagated in the next few hours/days on the CRAN network.
