None of the people I know at the University of Lyon have switched
to OS X, and none of them will switch in the next few months, even
those buying new Macs.

I think it will take at least one year until a significant part
of them do so. OS X is far from being a final version of Mac OS.
Even in 10.1, there is still many problems in the GUI, and too many
programs are missing an OS X version (other than a beta).

OS X has much higher needs in terms of CPU power and memory, so only
people buying new Macs will have the opportunity to switch. Looking
at the rate of new Macs purchase shows that it will take a long time
before OS X really spreads here.
