Senior Data Scientist - Culver City, CA 

Summary: 

A capable and creative leader who is experienced in designing, conducting and selling Data Science analytics.  Role includes sales and execution of advanced analytic techniques.  Requires unrelenting attention to detail, an ability to work well with a small team (including both programmers and non-programmers), and ability to communicate value of methods to non-technical individuals.  Fluency in R and/or Python is required.

Responsibilities:

. Primary role is to conduct business development efforts to sell Data Science analytic services to clients
. Design and work with team members on execution of large-scale data and statistical modeling efforts.
. Assist in developing new data science products by translating needs identified with clients into analytic frameworks that can be developed into polished applications.
. Direct outreach to clients and at industry events to discuss the analytic opportunities through statistical and computational modeling solutions to business problems
. Perform other business development, leadership and marketing science analyses as required.

Skills:

Required

. Excellent communications and client experience selling analytic services.
. Ability to design and execute advanced data science analyses such as Monte Carlo simulation, Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Agent Based Modeling, Bayesian Network analysis, genetic algorithms as well as advanced statistical analysis.
. Proficiency in advanced R and/or Python programming.

Preferred

. Working knowledge of Database and Big Data analytics (SQL, Hadoop, Mahout).
. Large dataset manipulation.  Experience in distributed storage and computing a plus.
. Experience with collaboration tools and version control systems (e.g. Git).
. Experience with JavaScript, esp. visualization libraries (e.g. d3.js).
. Familiarity with web scraping tools and techniques.
. Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D.) preferred but by no means required.
