Bioinformatician / Statistician
Grade: 5 or 6, depending on experience and qualifications

Commencing date: 1 March 2008
Job description: We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatician /
Statistician to work in the Centre for High Throughput Functional
Genomics. The position involves statistical and bioinformatic analysis
of genome wide datasets and support in experimental design.
Qualifications and experience: The ideal applicant should have an
appropriate university degree in computer science and/or statistics.
Extensive experience in bioinformatics, statistical analysis of large
datasets as well as good statistical programming skills are required.
Prior experience with analysis of genome wide datasets and the
programming language R is an advantage. The post holder should be able
to work independently and interact well within a team environment. Good
communication and interpersonal skills as well as a working knowledge of
English are essential.
Contract: A contract of 3 years will be offered to the successful
candidate. This can be renewed, depending on circumstances at the time
of the review.
