Antony,

with focus on prototyping and medium to complex modeling I strongly
suggest Uri Wilensky's Netlogo (https://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/)
which can interfaced from R using RNetLogo
https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/RNetLogo/index.html that
provides an excellent wrapper .

cheers Chris

My idea is to create agents that walk down streets, drive cars and generally act like ordinary people going to work and so on. I was wondering if this is something that anyone on this group has tried to do using R or knows about? Specifically, I am interested in using this to understand how crowds form. So far, I have been building simulations like this in Netlogo, but am interested to move into using R and would very much appreciate people's experience / hints & tips.
