[R-sig-Geo] agent-based model with GIS

Dear all,

I am interested in building an agent-based model with geospatial information in R. My idea is to create agents that walk down streets, drive cars and generally act like ordinary people going to work and so on. I was wondering if this is something that anyone on this group has tried to do using R or knows about? Specifically, I am interested in using this to understand how crowds form. So far, I have been building simulations like this in Netlogo, but am interested to move into using R and would very much appreciate people's experience / hints & tips.
