Likely correct group, but that link was necessary to see the context from 
before your posting. However, it is unlikely that ggmap/ggplot2 is the 
tool that is needed here, they does not "understand" spatial data or 
spatial reference systems well. Please find the book I refered to, or 
borrow it via IMR from NILU (there is ebrary access at Høgskolen i 
Sør-Trøndelag). Books still beat blogs in consistency and completeness.
