[R-sig-Geo] Need help with spatial data plotting

Stop me if you've heard this one. I'm new to R, and I want to do something
cool but I don't know how.
(I know, you're all shouting 'Stop!' Luckily I can't hear you, so I'll
continue.)
What I'm trying to do seems simple, but I don't 'speak' R well enough to
know how to do it. Here's the idea. I have a lot of data about companies in
different industries, including location and revenues. I want to create a
map showing company location. I want it to be a balloon plot with the size
of the bubble proportional to company revenues. And I'd like to color code
the bubbles by industry. Finally, if I could label each data point with the
company name, that would be ideal. Here's some sample data:
Company.Name Industry Revenues Longitude LatitudeABC Company Industry A
123326 51.519822 -0.087848BCD Company Industry B 47445 37.24142075
-121.7828064CDE Company Industry C 257197 48.89798563 2.40603433DEF
Company Industry A 418062 40.74407578 -74.00460052EFG Company Industry B
93900 48.93931961 2.355410099FGH Company Industry C 476525 34.050655
-118.266068GHI Company Industry A 128891 37.379179 -121.9550711HIJ
Company Industry B 88330 1.32118 103.6950302IJK Company Industry C 73932
43.6447601 -79.3839111JKL Company Industry A 413623 40.73675215
-74.17335078KLM Company Industry B 123657 22.33628273 114.1868286LMN
Company Industry C 232588 33.75854753 -84.3876446
I've done several web searches that lead me to the theory of GIS and the
intricacies of global coordinate systems. I've also made several trials
using the maps, maptools, and plotKML packages, but I'm too inarticulate to
correctly tell R what to do. Has anyone done something similar and, if so,
could you help out a man in need? Thanks in advance!
