Hi Lalita,

even though I don't promote ArcGIS at all, I would suggest you having a look at this document [1] about Interfacing R and ArcGIS with Python, as well as the resources it points out.

As you can see, the interface allows you to expose an R script as an ArcGIS Geoprocessing Tool, which you could run inside ArcMap. As Martin commented, it is based on ArcGIS v.10.1.

The short answer to your question is: Only through Python scripting.

Python is rapidly growing in the Esri world/community. The (soon) to be 
released ver. 10.1 have even more Python possibilities.

To see an example on how to write and execute an R call, from inside 
ArcGIS (ver. 10.0) , please look at this page from on-line help.
