[R-sig-Geo] HDF4 in Windows

Doesn't the rgdal binary on Windows come with gdal?
http://www.gdal.org/frmt_hdf4.html
Though it looks like that driver may be optional at compile time.

Not having seen the whole discussion of this, I assume you get some sort 
of error message trying to load with rgdal?
