[R-sig-Geo] memory leaking of some rgeos functions?

I found a workaround to circumvent the memory leaking. I initiate all cores
on my CPU and run rgeos functions inside snowfall functions (sfSapply,
sfLapply...). Once the calculations are done, I stop the "cluster" which
frees stranded memory.
