[R-sig-Geo] Crabs data analysis help

Hi, all

I'm currently working on the crabs catch rates by Latitude/Longitude for females and
males for the period 1993-2010. I can't use point process methods for such data because there is a catch rate attached to each point location given by LL.

Does anyone know the natural model for such data? like a Poisson random variable with mean that may depend on sex, spatial location, and time. Really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
