Hi,
The geostatistical package gstat supports IDW.
library(gstat)
data(meuse)
data(meuse.grid)
coordinates(meuse)=~x+y
gridded(meuse.grid)=~x+y
meuse.idw = idw(log(zinc)~1, meuse, meuse.grid, idp = 2)
spplot(meuse.idw, "var1.pred")
