[R-sig-Geo] intersection coordinates of two polygons

Hi all

Is there a way to output the coordinates of the intersections of two
polygons? I did wonder if this could be extracted from the code used in
overlap.xypolygon, but I haven't been able to work out if this code
calculates intersection points.
