[R-sig-eco] problem using reshape package

Hi Michael,

matrify() world work if I had only one column with abundances. In my
original data frame I have 1 sample.id column, 1 taxon column but 7
abundance columns (corresponding to 7 replicates taken within each sample).

I am quite sure that the cast()function within the reshape package should
work with such a format, because it worked for fractions of my original
dataset, but not with the complete data set. I just don't understand why...

Thank you anyway!

Cheers,

Dulce

Sorry I can't answer your question but have another suggestion to try.

I am a bit confused by the format of your original data frame.
However, I do this sort of matrification often with the matrify()
function in the labdsv package.

see

library(labdsv)
?matrify

hope this helps,
Michael
