[R-sig-Debian] gedit with .r and .R

There are three potentially interesting things:
1. GEdit LaTeX plugin which also integrates Sweave (*.Rnw files). 
However, I adjusted older version for my needs, Ubuntu or Debian repos 
do not have the latest version which fixed some bugs that made Swaving 
nonfunctional. Latest and functional must be taken from subversion 
(SVN). Check: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gedit-latex/ and 
http://www.michaels-website.de/gedit-latex-plugin/
2. Second excellent plugin is RGEdit. It nicely integrates R into GEdit. 
However, you must download it, and it is not in Ubuntu/Debian repos.

3. Finally, there is that mime-database fix to recognize and highlight R 
stuff.

I am not as experienced, but I am willing to contribute if I would know how.
