Thanks Dirk. Since as a normal user I don't have permissions to
/usr/local/, this seemed like a good idea. Also, /home is in a separate
hard drive, so I thought this ~/.Renviron would help if the OS needs to be
reinstalled on the main hard drive. But wanted to hear what other Debian
R users thought.
