Those functions contain a reference to filter_normalized_data, but the 
code analysis couldn't find it defined anywhere.

Sometimes these are false positives, the code analysis isn't perfect. 
You should check them, and if they really are false positives, you can use

globalVariables("filter_normalized_data")

to suppress the warning.

You need to decide if that large data directory is really necessary, and 
if so, justify its use to the CRAN maintainers when you make your 
submission.
