This is one solution, but it's not exactly what you want:
library(lattice)
u <- row(matrix(0, nrow = 10, ncol = 15))
v <- col(matrix(0, nrow = 10, ncol = 15))
x <- u
y <- .5 * u + .3 * v
z <- log(u + v)
wireframe(z ~ x * y)
