I am a technical recruiter in Denver, CO. Currently, I have a client
company with two openings for Sr. Statisticians. The first is based out of
Broomfield CO (close to Boulder), and the second is in New York City.

1.
Title: Senior Statistician
Type: Perm
Dollars: Market
Location: Broomfield, CO.
Required Skills (yrs and platforms): Superior knowledge of statistical and
modeling principles including sampling, inference, desirable characteristics
of variables and models, transformations, validations, etc. Knowledge of
statistical and modeling methodology including linear and logistic
regression, linear correlation, analysis of covariance, factor analysis,
etc. Ability to conduct large scale projects and research through all
stages: concept formulation, definition of metrics, determination of
appropriate statistical methodology, research evaluation, and final research
report. SAS programming: data step and procedures, macros desirable.
Excellent project management skills Ability to work independently. Proactive
knowledge of production processes. 3-5 years experience in statistical field
and 1 year experience conducting original research. 1 year experience
working with external clients in a business environment. Availability to
travel up to once or twice per month. Knowledge and experience in direct
marketing strongly preferred
Degree Required Y/N: Yes. Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics or
other related field of study.
Typical Day: Will employ sound statistical principles to create custom
models; evaluate and improve current modeling methodology; research new
products and applications data; write code to support modeling and research
projects; consult with sales and external clients to present research
results, provide creative problem resolution, and advise on products; work
with internal departments to troubleshoot a variety of custom modeling,
production, and data problems; provide training to other personnel.

Title: Senior Statistician
Type: Perm
Dollars: Market + 10% bonus
Location: New York City, NY
Required Skills (yrs and platforms): Experience and demonstrable ability in
numerical and statistical coding in some main-line language, such as MATLAB,
C, FORTRAN, or S. These models will primarily be implemented in C on a UNIX
platform, so direct experience for both is required. A proven history of
data analysis and modeling is needed, particularly with large data sets. You
must have in-depth coding experience in at least two of the following
methodologies, and some familiarity with the rest: Linear and Logistic
Regression, including total least squares, model selection, and model
diagnostics; Categorical Data Analysis, Cluster Analysis and Discriminant
Analysis, Neural Nets, Tree-based and other machine learning models, modern
statistical methods such a MCMC, Smoothing, EM algorithm, etc.
Plus Skills: Additional experience with C++, Perl, SQL and NT is beneficial.
Degree Required Y/N: Yes. BS or MS in Computer Science or a degree and
computer systems related experience.
Typical Day: Statistical modeling, data analysis and data mining for the
client modeling group. Numerical coding, research and development of
modeling products, and data analysis utilizing methods listed previously.
You will have the opportunity to consult with external clients as well.
