plot(a.ppr) does *not* plot predicted values, it plots a single term, the
ridge function used.  And that is clearly stated on the help page
for plot.ppr.  Different multiples of the ridge function are used for the
regression of the various components of y, so there is no way this could be
a `prediction'.
