[R] Linux -> Win2K file transfer

  That kind of mangling is one of the things I thought about, but the
transfer was copying across from my Linux machine to my WWW directory on
the departmental NT machine (Samba mount) and then via Netscape download.  
I don't *think* this would mangle things ... And yes, ascii=TRUE didn't
work either.  I'm going to try dump/dput next ... if this problem persists
I may try to figure it out, but if I can work around it I'll just do that.
