[R] Setting up ESS 5.0

It works "out of the box" on Debian GNU/Linux which comes which packages for
every Emacs (I prefer Xemacs21), R and ESS.  You might be able to convert the
.deb packages into .rpm using the 'alien' program.

That being said, I also struckled with an ancient ESS (eg 5.0) prior to the
package being made available (which is 5.1.*).

That is misspelled. "Universität" in or "Universitaet" in 7bit mode.
