[R] solving an integral equation

Hello, my question is the following: I want to solve the equation

integral (lower = 0,upper = m) of f(t)dt = 0.5 for m

i.e. the median of some density. The density is a Generalized Gamma, so I
can't simply use 'q...' to find the median, and the integral is not known in
closed form. Is R capable of doing this, or is it better to use something
like Maple? Thank you very much.
