Dear R users,

I am trying to fit a piecewise linear relationship for my data. I have
my predicted ranks, obtained by regressing rank(y) on rank(x). Now I
need to get y-values back by interpolating from the y-values on either
side of the predicted ranks. I was trying to do this with approxfun and
interp from the akima package but kept running into problems. Is there
any easy way to do this?
