Yes, and it doesn't work on Slackware and possibly other Linux
Installations. It also insists on its own very idiosyncratic directory
structure.
If RedHat users want their .rpm files - fine.
However do keep up the .tar.gz file format, which needs only standard unix
utilities for its use.
