Are you saying that you'd expect different versions of R to have the
same md5sum?... ;-)

CRAN master has the old md5sum.txt as well, so I guess that the
Windows maintainer just forgot to update it.

Incidentally, I don't think it's all that smart to have the md5sum
in the same location as the binary. If one is tampered with, the other
one could be too. For the main release, I always send the md5sums via
the mailing lists.
