[Rd] X11 not present leads to compile error (PR#543)

Problem arises when X11 headers not present.

- When running "./configure", X11 is not found, and "no" appears on the log
messages.
However, at compile time, the X11 headers are still referenced, and the
compilation 
bombs. I presume that either configuration should end with an error message, or

compilation ( makefiles or src files ) should respect the absence of X11
headers.
