[ESS] Debian installation bug report with current package and Emacs 28.1

Hi Dirk,

I'm in the same boat as you with my Emacs distributions. For the 28.1 release, I shipped the tip of the master branch of ESS since it was the only real option that was offered to me, but I must say I'm quite uncomfortable to do so.

I don't have much more than encouragement to contribute to the development of ESS, but let's hope that we can get a release cycle back soon.

As the interest in a Debian package or in my pre-packaged Emacs distributions show, the "just install from MELPA" mantra is not a solution (or the prefered one) for all Emacs users.
