[ESS] Emacs 28.1 Released

Hi,

For what it's worth, I periodically (3-4 times a year) recompile Emacs from the development source, and install ESS via MELPA, (updated on about the same frequency), and haven't noticed any issues. But as a consequence of this work flow, I'm not really aware of official 'releases' of Emacs or ESS, or any potential conflicts between there might be between them. But there haven't been any major conflicts in the development versions of either that I've noticed in a while.

I did find your distribution very useful when I was running Emacs/ESS on Windows. I haven't needed to do that for some years now, so I can't comment on how well MELPA works on that platform. I assume it's comparably seamless to how it works on Linux though?
